This week we were at Yellowstone and we saw wolves. We drove to the best spot to see them and we found them. We had a great time watching the wolves. We couldn’t get the best view because it was a few miles (maybe one or two) away but we could see a pretty good outline. The best part of the day to see them was at dusk and you definitely couldn’t see them without a spotting scope or binoculars. The spotting scope was the best way to see them but you could see them with binoculars, it was blurry, but you could see them. We sat there for a while and I got bit by a million mosquitos 🦟 but we did have a good time watching wolves.
The pack that we saw were mostly black from what we could see of them at least. They are called the Waipiti pack and we found out there are 19 members.
We had brought chairs but we didn’t really use them because we where on the ground looking into the spotting scope and sitting down wasn’t the same as standing.
We stopped at the viewing spot earlier that day in order to try to see them. We were a little late in the morning, but they were still out. A nice lady let me look through her scope because she already had it aimed on the wolves. Unfortunately for the rest of the family, I saw them run down a hill and out of sight and they never came back out.
