We are settled in Anthem, Arizona, for the week and living with the Walter family. Today’s adventure took us to the enormous town park for a multi-hour Veterans Day ceremony.
Anthem had a local choral and orchestral group from Phoenix, videos from the USS Nimitz, a flyover of F-35s, and a guest speaker who not only served in Korea and Vietnam but was also a POW for 6 years!
The event culminated in the sun shining through the 5 Armed Forces pillars (sorry Space Force) at exactly 11:11 to shine on the Great Seal.
It was a beautiful ceremony and to top it off, Sarah and I went grocery shopping and got 10% off our entire cart for a veteran’s discount. Winning!
