While traveling we have plans to complete an astronomy curriculum. Therefore, it was a perfect coincidence that our first camping spot was a great location to watch the longest lunar eclipse in a decade.
I kept everyone up late and at 1030pm we tromped out to the beach to watch the Moon move into the Earth’s shadow. The kids were really interested and enjoyed star watching and constellation hunting over the hour wait from the start of the eclipse until it was full. It was a beautiful night to watch the sky!
