Those who know us well, know we enjoy coffee. Now, we don’t enjoy coffee the way normal people enjoy it. We need it to have been roasted within the past week, be a light to medium roast, and single origin beans. Then it has to be made in a pour over method with a paper filter using water heated to the optimum temperature. Sounds easy for people traveling with a home on wheels, right?
We are traveling with a 50lb bag of green beans from Ethiopia. We bought them before launching, but I’m going to have to keep an eye on our supply a figure out when and where I need to order more.
Chris roasts about every six days in order for our beans to always be at peak freshness. We also managed to get all our fancy coffee gear to fit on the lid of a Rubbermaid tub, so we can seal it up for rain and easy transport in and out of the RV.
Certainly beats having a cup of Floger’s in a diner, or midwatch coffee on the mess deck.
What is your roaster set up?
We have a Behmor 1600. Very easy and reliable. I think they are up to the 2000 now.

Have you considered just getting your coffee at CoGos?
I hear they do a good cup of joe.
