Adventures in Austin

We have moved out of the RV for a few months. Knowing that winter weather is unpredictable all around the country, Chris winterized the RV before we left it at a commercial lot. Thank goodness we did! The weather last week was cold and definitely would have frozen our pipes.

Our first non-RV spot is in Austin, Texas. My brother’s family is hosting us through the holidays and showing us all the reasons that Austin always tops lists as the best city to live in.

We headed out to the Rhinory to see an African white rhino and enjoy a wine tasting.

We visited the Cidercade to play some old video games and pinball while drinking cider and chowing down on amazing wood fired pizza.

We went on a double date in the heart of the city for bbq at Lamberts, a delicious restaurant in a beautiful old building. We then hopped on some scooters and made our way over to an experimental cocktail bar, Here Nor There. They only have cocktails based off colors, so chose a color and prepare to be delighted!

It isn’t all heading out to paint the town red, we have plenty of down time too. We have played some board games, spent hours in the hot tub and even spent yesterday morning de-Christmasing the house in anticipation of Jack’s birthday.

We have always loved our time in Austin, and this time is no exception.

Telestrations made everyone laugh until they were sore the next day.
