We left the RV for a while to head back East and see our families. We also lined up the trip to coincide with our 20 year Coast Guard Academy reunion.
We have been anticipating our 20 year reunion for almost the past 20 years. It is the first time that you will see people who have retired after a full career and see who is still hoping for more. We are 20 years older and different than the kids that we were when we graduated.
Our weekend started off with a class breakfast on Friday morning. People were so excited to catch up that we overstayed our welcome in the building and were asked to find somewhere else to gather. Most people then moved to the Exchange to shop for Coast Guard gear for the family and replace old and tired T-shirts from 20 years ago.
A quick lunch with friends and back to watch the Corps of Cadet’s drill and relive memories of Parent’s Weekend from freshman (4/C) year.
The day ended with a great party and get-together in the evening. There were plenty of games to entertain the kids and plenty of new and old friends to talk with.
Saturday was the big day with a tailgate and March On to introduce the class and celebrate our accomplishments. We watched some football and explored the grounds of CGA. But more than anything we continued to catch up with the half of our class that were able to make it out for the reunion.
See you guys in five years, if we don’t run into each other first.
