We traveled by overnight ferry to Crete, the largest island in Greece. It felt like we had the island to ourselves! It was such a sleepy town that we experienced closing out restaurants and being able to order only what they had left in the pantry. That didn’t disappoint us at all, in fact it made the place even more magical to us. From Knossos Palace to the Diktaean Cave where Zeus was born, we drove around the island. A favorite sight was probably the roaming goats (moms & babies) with their bells.
