We were optimistic that posting our planned route might lead to connections that we had not planned, and it worked! Natasha reached out after seeing that we were coming near enough to Nashville that we might be able to see each other. For those who don’t know, Natasha is a classmate of ours from the Coast Guard Academy. We invited the Bartelt family to come join us camping at Mammoth Cave and see if we could convince our kids to play together for a bit while we caught up on the past 20 years.
Both families had a blast, and I’m sure the kids can’t wait to see each other again. Maybe we can do it at the 20 year reunion in the fall….
