We took to the water today to explore the Crystal Coast at a different angle. We booked a tour through Paddle NC and shoved off from Hammock Beach State Park. The four of us fit into two tandem kayaks and we teamed up in our old ski lift partnerships. Jack also pointed out that the combined age of each kayak was 54; guess it was meant to be!
Kayaking through the salt marshes was beautiful and peaceful. Thankfully we had barely any wind and the tide was with us because my paddle partner liked to dip his hands in the water more than he liked to paddle!
We made it out to Bear Island and had a great picnic watching the surf. Aleah and I tried to find some more fossilized shark’s teeth, but were unsuccessful.
Our tour ended with a surprise! A pod of six dolphins swam by us as we were approaching the dock. What a great end to a picture perfect day.
Looks like a perfect day!
